The Concept behind Milk

In design and fashion history, there are many great examples of brands that were born from the simple dedication of their founders.
They began to work with their passions in a family environment, then over time managing to export their concept to the general public while keeping constant what then goes to be the emblematic feature of their productions, the craftsmanship of the product that enhances the confidentiality of the brand.

This has always been the common thread that also characterizes Milk Concept Boutique; the London boutique, born as a design and fashion store in the heart of Shoreditch by a couple of Swiss Italian art lovers with long experience in fashion and design.

The original idea (explains Nathalie one of the two founders) was to create a "high-end design and furniture shop" which, compared to some competitors and in particular to department stores, could provide much more personalized and professional customer service in line with the needs of its buyers.

Milk's story, Nathalie follows, was born by the couple’s vision of creating a shop & concept boutique in the heart of Shoreditch inside one of the oldest building of The Clerk's House.

The distinctive character of those early years, in which Milk was launched in 2009, was to offer the public an adequate advice and consultancy service, but also to sell Fashion and Design together in the same space. Hence, the name of Concept (design) and Boutique (fashion). Furthermore, being the first Fornasetti retailer in the UK, this provided the opportunity to make the general public better known as one of the most important Italian sculptors and designers in Italy, Piero Fornasetti.


Over the years the work carried out by the London boutique has received appreciation from numerous industry representatives, welcoming recommendations and reviews from the best online magazines and blogs in the industry; like:

In 2018 Milk completes its corporate evolution, moving from a physical boutique to online thus deciding to leave Clerk's House to become a Showroom by appointment only and a full-time online store.

This, (emphasize the two founders) was necessary to be able to offer a better service to loyal customers by providing them with greater exclusivity and privacy. This digital change also allowed the company to grow internationally, being able to reach its buyers everywhere offering them free delivery anywhere in the world.

 

Now, inside the online store you can find the best home furniture brands such as Alivar, Gervasoni; unique design pieces by Balleri Italia, Castellani & Smith, Ciclotte and Casalis; limited edition collections by Piero Fornasetti and the latest trends from the famous brand home fragrance’s brand Mad et Len.

 

Furthermore, over the past two years, Milk has expanded its product offering by introducing brands such as Ghidini1961, Qeeboo, All We Are Andre Fu Living and Rocket & Mate ebikes.
