Born from the experience of Matteo De Ponti, architect, who grew one of the most outstanding Milanese design families, and sensibility of Laura Macagno, in Economics and passionate of art and design. Our expressive research is inspired by the utopian force of Italian eminences architects and designers of the ’50s, the Scandinavian design, the Bauhaus, ethnic handcraft and houses of famous writers of the XX century, all different as a style but united by the intense soul of those who worked and lived there.
Our pieces draw inspiration from trips to far lands, starting from Argentina, Laura’s birthplace, where our dream begins. From there comes the name Colé, tied to a common memory. An element of which makes us happy just thinking about it.
We deeply love arts and artists such as Mondrian, De Chirico, Fontana, Sonia Delaunay, Moholy Nagy, Brancusi, the genius of Escher, as all artists who wrote the code of modernity.
The muse of our every piece is thus Art and a shared passion for everything that comes from careful aesthetic research, whether it is a furniture, a book or a rug, always considering the practicality for a contemporary use
