The recording reproduces the version of W.A. Mozart’s famous opera brought to the stage by Fornasetti, which resurrected its original soundscape. The Silete Venti! orchestra, directed by Simone Toni and composed of thirty musicians playing period instruments, brings out the original creative potency of the work. The voices, a fundamental part of the artistic project, have been carefully chosen for their complementarity with the orchestra and its instruments.
The DVD includes an exclusive video with footage of the performance and backstage scenes, as well as interviews with Barnaba Fornasetti and the exceptional team of artists who collaborated on the opera.
Fornasetti is directly engaged in the production of the opera, working with an exceptional team of artists, to rediscover the innovative force of the Prague manuscript, as opposed to the more customary approach of performing the second version of Don Giovanni, written by Mozart for the audience in Vienna. The layers of alterations made across the centuries have been cleared away, allowing the remarkable creative force of the original work to emerge
